2025 Competitions Released!

MDNA is excited to release the details of their competition offerings in 2025. In 2024 the Association has grown to include Boys Netball, Walking Netball and refreshed Net Set Go Program. In 2025 we are pleased to announce the addition of Mixed Netball for Juniors and Seniors to our competitions. Along with an additional Open Women’s competition on a Friday morning.

NetSetGo Back for Term 2!

March 21, 2024

After a successful start to the year, MDNA is excited for another term of Net Set Go!

Net Set Go, designed for children aged 5 to 10, aims to introduce them to the fundamentals of netball in a fun and engaging environment. Participants will have the opportunity to learn basic skills such as passing, shooting, and footwork, all while fostering teamwork and sportsmanship.

The program, known for its inclusive approach, welcomes children of all skill levels, whether they are beginners or have some experience in netball. Led by experienced coaches, the sessions promise to be both educational and enjoyable.

Registrations for Term 2 are now open, with sessions set to commence on Saturday April 20th. Parents interested in enrolling their children are encouraged to email netsetgo@mdnanetball.com.au for more information.

Are you passionate about netball and dedicated to making a positive impact in your community? MDNA is seeking enthusiastic volunteers like you to join our dynamic Board and help shape the future of netball in our association!

At MDNA we are committed to promoting and developing the sport of netball within our community. We provide opportunities for players, coaches and umpires of all ages and skill levels to participate in the sport they love while fostering a culture of inclusivity, sportsmanship, and excellence.

As a member of our Board, you’ll play a vital role in:

  • Setting strategic goals and direction for the association
  • Overseeing financial management and budgeting
  • Developing and implementing programs to support player development and engagement
  • Building partnerships with local organisations and sponsors
  • Ensuring the effective operation of competitions, events, and facilities

Walking Netball – Term 2 Enrol Now!

Our Walking Netball Competition is back for Winter!

Registrations are now open for our Walking netball competition commencing Term 2.

Walking netball is exactly how it sounds. It is the game we all love and adore, but with no running or jumping. A perfect game for those who would love to step back on the court after many years, who have never played before, and perfect for those who are rehabbing injuries.

Teams are open to any gender, age over 15 and ability.

Boys Netball Launching at MDNA!

BOYS NETBALL IS COMING TO MOUNTAIN DISTRICT NETBALL ASSOCIATION!
Do you play netball at school? Or even play at your association on a Saturday? Enjoy it so much you’d love to play with like minded boys on a weekly basis?
We are seeking expressions of interest for our new competition commencing Term 2.
This competition is aimed towards boys aged 11-14 with games held on a Friday afternoon at Knox Regional Netball Centre.

Dear members,

This is to advise you of the upcoming Annual General Meeting of the members of the Mountain District Netball Association.

We invite you to celebrate the achievements of the 2023 season with us!

The details of the meeting are as follows:

  • Monday 25th March 2024
  • 7:30pm
  • Knox Regional Netball Centre, 9 Dempster Street, Ferntree Gully 3156

At the meeting, members will have the opportunity to:

  • find out about Mountain Districts Netball Association’s operations and finances
  • ask questions about the operations and finances of Mountain District Netball Association
  • speak about any items on the agenda
  • vote on any resolutions proposed. (n/a)

At the meeting, members will be asked to vote to:

  • accept the minutes of the last annual general meeting
  • accept the annual report
  • accept the auditor’s report
  • accept the annual financial statements
  • appoint and pay an auditor
  • elect Board Members.

MDNA Walking Netball Registrations Open

WALKING NETBALL WANTS YOU🏐
⭐ Registrations are open for our FREE walking netball competition starting Term One! ⭐
We are still looking for individuals and teams to start our new competition in the coming weeks. All are welcome over the age of 15
Our Tuesday night competition is completely free for Term one (not including walking VNA of $21) with games at 7.15 and 8pm.

Registrations close on the 30th January.
⭐Don’t forget our Wednesday morning walk in and play competition (which is also FREE for term 1) is also up and running for 2024! Come by yourself or/and with friends and join us for morning tea afterwards. ⭐

New Umpire Workshop

⛔️ CAPACITY HAS BEEN REACHED ⛔️ Please email expression of interested for a mid season workshop!

Information to register/participate includes:

1️⃣ Complete the digital registration form (https://forms.office.com/r/UCHDUF0HQe or QR code attached) to register. Registrations close February 11th, and no late applications will be accepted.

2️⃣ Complete the ‘Rules of Netball Exam’ in the Netball Australia Learning Portal (https://learning.netball.com.au) before the workshop, and email a copy of the certificate to umpiring@mdnanetball.com.au

3️⃣ Attend the New Umpires Workshop on the 17th – wear sports clothes, bring a notebook, pen, whistle, water and snacks for the day

4️⃣ Must be 14 or over – or # must turn 14 by the 30th June 2024 to register

Capacity for this workshop is 20 participants, and will be done on a first come first serve basis, so it is best to get in quick. If there is enough demand, we will run a mid-season New Umpires Workshop.
